Your scenario about sitting on the couch and having a crisis about what to watch isn&#039;t unfamiliar to me, but I tend to drift into shorter and shorter shows as a result.

And, especially late at night, shows that require no mental investment (nor much time) come to mind: ATHF or Blind Date.</description>

		<description>In a nutshell, this is why instead of getting a TiVO (sorry, friend who works there), I cancelled cable entirely and got a Netflix subscription. Whatever showed up in the day&#039;s mail is what I&#039;m going to watch when I need some mental down time. No thought required, no decision-making process involved.</description>
