The glory that is the internet
So far, I’m digging the third season of “Veronica Mars.”
But that’s not really what this post is about.
Last week’s episode ended with an audio overlay of a terrific female vocalist singing… I liked it a lot and wanted to hear the whole thing. So, I dutifully waited out the end credits for the outgoing bump with, “tonight’s episode of ‘Veronica Mars’ featured music by….”
No dice.
I went to the CW’s website, expecting the music to be listed prominently and downloadable via iTunes.
No dice.
Fortunately, one major step forward for the new website over last year’s version at UPN is that it has community, and different folks in the community listed their fan sites, including “Mars Investigations” which has terrific coverage of the music in the show.
Soon, I discovered that the song is “Fidelity” by Regina Spektor from a new album, “Begin To Hope.” Better yet, you can listen to the song for free on Spektor’s MySpace page.
I did. I loved it. She reminds me of a young Annie Lennox without all the intrusive synth.
I bought the album from Amazon.

I’m happy you were able to find the song. I was a very happy camper when I discovered an iTunes mix that lists all the songs featured in each episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Now I don’t have to wait months for them to release soundtracks with select songs.
