Dan Greenfield tagged me with the latest “8 Random Things About Me” meme. Thanks, Dan!

But, alas, I already went through this once before with the “5 Things About Myself” earlier version of this meme from back in December. I don’t know how un-random it makes me, but I kind like the original five and don’t know if I can dredge up eight more. I will, however, happily add three more odd things about me and three more people.

The Reader’s Digest version of numbers one through five:

1. I have read and collected comic books for 35 years.
2. The Ph.D. that serves mostly for cocktail party conversation is in Shakespeare studies.
3. I’ve written a full draft of a novel that I’m trying to get back to and rework.
4. I worry too much.
5. My daughter goes to the same elementary school that I went to as a child.

So here goes with the last three:

6. I’m more patient at work than at home, and I’m working to fix that.
7. Even though I read comic books and science fiction and am pretty technical, I don’t play games and just don’t get them.
8. I’m a second generation Los Angeleno; my kids are third. That’s pretty rare in a city of immigrants.
