Short Post: What is Baja Fresh THINKING?

22 January 2007 | Internet, Marketing, Media | Comments

For Sunday evening family get-togethers, Baja Fresh is takeout of frequent resort. Yesterday, my parents took my five-year-old daughter to a puppet show while my wife and I went out to do some errands with our 19-month-old son. We all had a general plan to converge at our house for an early dinner, and Baja Fresh was the target takeout.

Being efficient, we went to the internet to print out a PDF of the menu and take it with us, so that we could call in our order from the road.

There is no printable menu at www.bajafresh.com!

I patiently searched the internet and eventually discovered a remarkable site: www.menupages.com, where I quickly found a printable PDF for our local Baja Fresh. It is, perhaps, the same as the printable PDFs for all the Baja Fresh locations nationwide, but it worked.

Why, I wonder, has Fresh Enterprises — the company that bought Baja Fresh from Wendy’s last year — made so basic a marketing + usability + good customer service mistake? Why make an intended customer search for 10 minutes to find a menu that I wanted to keep in my car for the future in order to give them MORE of my money?

My gasts are flabbered.

I am actually the Director of Operations for Baja Fresh in the North Jersey Franchise area. You are absolutely correct about us needing to add a printable menu to our website. The website has all the information that you need…except the menu. I am going to get all over that. I appreciate the blog and love the business. I will also add to this blog as soon as we get the menu up on the website. Thanks again!
