Short Post: Amusing Dilbert branded entertainment
[Cross-posted with the iMedia Connection blogs.]
This morning’s Dilbert contains an amusing embedded advertisement:
Click here to see the comments on Dilbert.com, the most trenchant of which by username HaroldSaxon is, “What an effective way to have newspapers across the county pay for an advertisement!”
Dutifully, I checked www.dilbertfiles.com and discovered its a fee-based service for sending big files outside of the usual “clog the recipient’s email” direct channels and storing files online. There is PROMINENT Dilbert branding throughout, but the site is owned by the Dutch “Prebase Development B.V.” rather than Scott Adams.
Inquiring minds want to know:
- Is Adams amused by www.dilbertfiles.com and letting them know that he knows, is amused, and isn’t going to bring legal action via this strip?
- Is he going to bring suit?
- Has www.dilbertfiles.com licensed the characters?
- Does Adams somehow own a piece of this business?
Nothing yet about this on the Scott Adams blog, but perhaps time will tell.
